Why we built BandVisa
Every year, hundreds of thousands of students and professionals across Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka sit an English test — IELTS, PTE, TOEFL and others — because a university offer or a visa depends on it. Most of them prepare the hard way: YouTube videos, second-hand books, and writing essay after essay with nobody qualified to mark them.
Writing is where target scores are lost. It is the one skill you genuinely cannot self-assess: you can check your reading answers against a key, but you cannot grade your own essay against examiner criteria. Private tutors who can are expensive, slow, and out of reach for most families.
BandVisa fixes that with AI. Who is behind it
BandVisa is built by Borders & Bridges, an education and visa consultancy based in Lahore, Pakistan, that has guided students into universities in the UK, Canada, Australia, Europe and beyond. We watched too many capable students lose admissions cycles to a half-band in writing — so we built the tool we wished they had.
